Techyxeldía is an initiative by the Uruguayan Chamber of Information Technologies (CUTI) that aims to bring young women closer to the technology industry, within the framework of the International Girls in ICT Day (Information and Communication Technologies). As every year, at Urudata Software we joined the initiative by organizing a very special morning at our offices.
On Thursday, April 24, we opened our doors to senior-year students from Elbio Fernández High School for an immersive day focused on sharing knowledge and experiences.
It is essential to create spaces where girls can discover that technology is for them too.
Inspiring Tech Careers Through Real Experiences
Our team members—Milena Gil (Head of People & Culture), Candelaria Fraquio (Intermediate Developer), Milena dos Santos (Developer), Amalia González (Chief Financial Officer), Josefina Fernández (Developer), and Sofía Andreoli (Intermediate Developer)—shared their experiences as professionals in the tech industry and engaged in an open Q&A session with the students.
In addition to discussing their personal career paths, Urudata Software’s representatives covered various aspects of working in tech—from first steps in programming to the wide range of professional roles within a software company.
Learning by Doing: A Hands-On Tech Experience
After reviewing some key concepts, the students participated in a hands-on session where they put their IT knowledge to the test in a friendly competition for a special prize.
A Warm Closing with Gifts, Smiles, and a Commitment to Inclusion
We wrapped up the day with a shared breakfast and gifts for all the participants. At Urudata Software, we are committed each year to creating spaces for connection that inspire and promote greater inclusion of women in the technology world.
